Sketchbook: March 18-24

I’ve been drawing more lately — a skill I’ve really neglected and therefore lost over the past decade. A few weeks ago I was drawing and was absolutely shocked by how childish and inept my drawings were. So I made a vow to start drawing more in order to relearn the art. Eliot Goldfinger’s book “Human Anatomy For Artists” has been very helpful. Maybe I’ll start doing weekly sketchbook posts to track my development in relearning how to draw. Here is the first set of sketches then — some look very rigid and awkward.

  1. These sketches are “childish”, “rigid” and “awkward”? OMG! You haven’t seen the way I draw! (Hint: My stick men la k proportion.)
